Mar 24, 2026: Museum Pop-up: Leland Green at Krannert Center

Join staff from Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum for a pop-up display in Krannert Center to learn about a special topic from Berry's past! This month, we'll be discussing former Berry Schools staff member G. Leland Green (1883-1971). He came to work for Martha Berry as the principal of the Boy's Industrial School in 1920, and became Berry College's first president when college classes were added to the Berry Schools in 1926. After his retirement, the Recitation Hall was renamed the Green Building in his honor.

Mar 28, 2026: House o' Dreams Open House at House O Dreams

In honor of the Alumni Council’s Annual Berry History Week, Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museums is pleased to invite the campus community and the public to a special opportunity to visit the House O’ Dreams, one of Berry College’s most meaningful and beloved historic sites.

On March 28, 2026, guests may travel to House O’ Dreams via a dedicated shuttle departing from Berry College’s Mountain Campus. Docents will be on site throughout the day to provide historical context and interpretation. Visitors may also choose to hike up the mountain independently and participate at no cost.

Ticket Information
• $12 per person (public)
• $8 per person (Berry College students, faculty, staff, & alumni)
• Shuttle tickets include round-trip transportation and docent-led historical interpretation

Shuttles will depart from Berry College’s Mountain Campus every 45 minutes beginning at 10:00 a.m., with the last shuttle departing at 2:30 p.m. Details as to where to park and meet the shuttle will be provided via email to registrants prior to the event.

Important Visitor Information
• No dogs are permitted on the shuttle or inside the House O’ Dreams building
• Open food and drink are not allowed on the shuttle or inside the house
• House O’ Dreams has limited accessibility; visitors with accessibility questions are encouraged to contact the museum in advance for assistance

Apr 8, 2026: Family Mornings: Generosity at Oak Hill and the Martha Berry Museum

Join us for a special Family Morning at the museum designed especially for our youngest visitors! In celebration of Berry College’s Annual day of Giving, this month’s theme is Generosity. Families are invited to explore hands-on activities that highlight the generosity of individuals who helped shape the history of The Martha Berry Museum and the Berry Schools.

Guests can:

Write a thank-you note like Martha Berry and mail it onsite through our museum “post office.”

Create paintings inspired by Mary Reynolds Morton, a major donor who helped fund the museum.

Learn how The Old Mill works through a STEM activity inspired by Henry Ford’s support of its construction.

Guests may also enjoy a tour of the Oak Hill home designed specifically for young learners. Tours begin at 10:00am, 11:00am, and 12:00pm and are recommended for ages 6–12, though all are welcome. For tour pricing and reservation information, please visit the link above.

Apr 29, 2026: Study Space at Martha's Place at Oak Hill and the Martha Berry Museum

Come enjoy the Oak Hill estate grounds and gardens while preparing for finals on Reading Day - the grounds will be open to all students from 10 AM – 2 PM on Wednesday, April 29th. The Swift & Finch Coffee Van will be parked outside to serve coffee and other beverages throughout the event!

There is limited internet access on the Oak Hill grounds, so please be prepared to use a hotspot if you require internet. We recommend bringing a towel or blanket to sit on just in case the grass is wet! No hammocks are permitted. In the event of rain, interior spaces around the Oak Hill estate will be opened up for student use.
