JustOne Africa Presentation

Amy Churchill, Director of Operations for JustOne Africa, will be coming to discuss the global plight of women and girls living in Kenya. Just One Africa cares for orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya by providing access to clean water and by partnering with local leaders to provide sustainable solutions which create hope through care, education, and community development. As a Women's and Gender Studies Department, we believe it is crucial to not only educate regarding intersections of oppression, but also to provide actionable ways for students, staff and faculty alike to support those working amidst oppressive poverty and systems. This event seeks to both educate and provide actionable items within the discourse of feminism and globalization. Amy Churchill will be joined by Dr. Susan Conradsen, after Amy discusses the work of JustOne and narrative examples of oppression; Dr. Conradsen will supplement with an academic perspective on Women's and Gender Studies, and intersectionality.
