This powerful film explores the rich history and evolution of jazz dance—an art form with deep historic and artistic roots in the experiences of enslaved American people. Jazz dance continues to serve as a metaphor for struggle, resistance, and acceptance, constantly evolving while honoring its past.

The event will be hosted by Ms. Sara Pecina, a dance instructor at Berry College. Ms. Pecina brings extensive expertise in jazz and tap dance history, and she has published several chapters and books on dance pedagogy and the cultural significance of these art forms.
