About this Event
In this body of work, Douglas Barrett explores roadside imagery, captured in a glimpse, as if through the window of a train. This concept is borrowed from Michel de Certeau’s The Practice of
Everyday Life, where the landscape is seen at the moment of creation, right before it vanishes. Barrett earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and his Master of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Since 2008, he has taught graphic design at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he founded BLOOM Studios.
