Metro Atlanta's Water Challenges and Successes

Water resources are a critical issue to the City of Atlanta, highlighted by the drought of 2011 when the city was down to less than three months supply of water. Katherine Zitsch, who is director of the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District, will discuss her work preparing for the next water shortage and the continued growth of the Atlanta metro area. This work is of wide interest to anyone who lives in Georgia, but also those who are curious about the intersection of science, economics, and policy around the important natural resource of water.
