McCoy Lecture on Southern Women Writers
The annual Buzz and Barbara Mote McCoy lecture series brings scholars and creative writers to Berry to call attention to and celebrate the contributions by women writers from the American South to the larger body of American literature. Students, regardless of major, and members of the Rome community will benefit from learning about these writers. The speaker is Trudier Harris, University Distinguished Professor of Research, University of Alabama. Her talk is titled, “Octavia E. Butler's Kindred and the Complexities of Home in African American Literature."
