Liminal Form is recent ceramic-based work by Columbus State University professor Yuichiro Komatsu. The exhibition consists of groupings of objects meant to evoke an elegant simplicity that balances, in the words of the artist, “fragility and permanence.”
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Komatsu earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz and Master of Fine Arts degree from the New York State College of
Ceramics at Alfred University. His work has been exhibited regionally (including Atlanta), nationally (including Kansas City, Mo.), and internationally in Brazil, Canada, China, and Germany.
