Learning in Place: New and Deeper Perspectives through Community-Engaged Courses
The panel is designed for students and faculty interested in understanding broader individual and community level needs or impacts during COVID. This understanding is facilitated through conversations with those who experienced firsthand the opportunities and challenges of remote community partnerships through Berry’s ACE (Academic Community Engaged) courses. Panelists (representing ACE faculty, students, and community partners) describe how their collaborations have worked and maintained awareness and responsiveness to key issues facing communities including but not limited to education inequalities, environmental sustainability, poverty, and more. Attendees will learn from and have the chance to talk with panelists who describe the nature of their new and deeper
perspectives about community well-being and interconnectedness garnered, in part, though community-engaged learning during the pandemic.
