Join us for an engaging and timely conversation with Dr. Melissa Osborne!

Dr. Osborne will discuss her research on parents’ experiences asking other caregivers about the presence of firearms in the home, the prevalence of these conversations, and the barriers parents face when addressing firearm safety. Her work highlights practical prevention strategies aimed at reducing firearm-related injuries among children and empowering families to have informed, safety-focused discussions. Dr. Osborne is an Assistant Professor in the Wellstar School of Nursing within the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services at Kennesaw State University. Trained as an epidemiologist and prevention scientist, she is also a proud Berry alumna and sociology major.

This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Sociology & Anthropology and the Division of Nursing Program.
