About this Event
Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum invites the public to celebrate the close of the holiday season with their annual Holiday Community Day on Friday, December 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This special free-admission open house marks the last day of the Oak Hill holiday season and offers visitors one final opportunity to experience the home’s festive historical decorations.
Guests are welcome to explore the beautifully adorned rooms of Oak Hill, where docents will be on hand to share stories about the home’s rich history and the Victorian-era Christmas traditions that inspired this year’s decor. The day’s festivities will also feature live music performed in the Oak Hill home, adding a warm and elegant touch to the experience.
Families and visitors of all ages can also take part in two Victorian-inspired ornament crafts, perfect for creating a keepsake to remember the season. In addition, the event will include two readings of Clement Clarke Moore’s classic 19th century poem, A Visit from St. Nicholas, at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the Oak Hill Library.
