During her free virtual lecture, Dr. Bandy will discuss the importance of the role of women in developing the school during the first three decades of its history.
As women entered public life in various spheres in the early twentieth century – most visibly in education, philanthropy, and the arts – "Circles of Women" helped Martha Berry form the school. These influential "Circles of Women" included teachers and leaders of the educational programs at the school; philanthropists and donors; and painters, writers, and public figures.
Join Dr. Bandy for this FREE virtual event to discover more about this important piece of Berry’s educational history.
Highlights from her talk will include:
- The circle of women who influenced the Martha Berry School for Girls
- Martha Berry’s vision for the Martha Berry School for Girls
- The impact of key women who were part of the Martha Berry School for Girls early days
Susan will also host a live Q&A at the end of the presentation, so be prepared to test her knowledge!
