Artist's talk with Wade MacDonald (approved for cultural events credit)
Wade MacDonald will provide an illustrated talk about his work in the Moon Gallery exhibition Eden. His sculpture references architectural history, design, and construction methods. He combines the handmade with digital technologies to build complex ceramic forms that incorporate wood, paper, appropriated objects, and acrylic plastic. These constructed realities reflect issues MacDonald has experienced since moving from his native Michigan to the South.
Wade MacDonald holds a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Michigan State University and Bachelor of Art in Art Education from Western Michigan University. He has a very active practice including a recent solo exhibition at Auburn University. Currently, Wade MacDonald is Assistant Professor of Ceramics in the Department of Art and Art History at The University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa).
This event will be held in Mcallister Auditorium.
