Artist's talk with Philip Fleming

This talk is held in conjunction with the Moon Gallery group exhibition Embodiment III featuring artwork that references the human figure in different media and approaches. Phillip Fleming constructs graphic novels inspired by the histories of African and Caribbean cultures using themes of slavery, vampires, pandemics, and war.  HIs titles include Lost JerusalemRooted, and Blood and Irons, and his latest webcomic, Black Ghost. Currently, Philip Fleming is on the faculty at Kennesaw State University where he teaches sequential art. He earned his MFA in Comics at the California College of the Arts and his BFA in Sequential Art at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
