Artist's talk with Jilian Marie Browning

 

This talk is also held in conjunction with the Embodiment III exhibition in the Moon Gallery. Jillian Marie Browning utilizes photographic processes to “explore the concept of feminine identity through the lens of the contemporary black experience.” Their work is part of notable collections such as the David C. Driskell Center for the Study of Visual Arts and Culture of African Americans and the African Diaspora. Jillian Browning is Assistant Professor of Photography at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. They received a BS in Photography from the University of Central Florida and MFA in Studio Art from Florida State University.
