Afro-Peruvian Literature and the (Re)writing of the Nation

This lecture elucidates the role of Afro-Peruvian historical fiction in uncovering truths and dispel myths about national identity by evoking a time when the nation was in formation, thus challenging the contemporary rhetoric that marginalizes Afro-descendants in this Andean nation, specially women.
